Which flower delivery company is best please?

I'm wanting to get some flowers delivered to my friend in America. Which company would you recommend please?

FTD is a network of independent florists throughout America. Place an order on their website and the most local affiliate will arrange and deliver the flowers.

Yes, use FTD. That way a local florist will take fresh flowers from their local stock and deliver them with their own car.

If you use one of the big websites, they literally put a box of flowers in the mail.

Absolutely avoid wesleyberrydotcom and fromyouflowersdotcom. They pose as local florists but just send the order to a local florist after taking 40-50% of what you pay as 'service charges'.

1-800 Flowers is pretty popular nationwide I believe. Edible Arrangements is also a thing I would look into.

Teleflora is my go to, but I'm biased. My godmother is a florist and that's what she uses. She was #1 designer in the world in both '88 and '89.

I've had nothing but good things with them (I haven't used her, specifically but have used Teleflora,since I moved away in '10)

I've used Pro Flowers without a problem. They're nationwide.

Look on Yelp or other local ratings. National companies no longer do a good job. also, send a note to the florist about the occasion. make it personal. they respond with better arrangements... You can also just tell them how much you want to spend, what Type or color flowers you want and they will usually get creative !

Use anything but the US postal service and you're in great hands. Ship with usps and you risk them "losing" it. Good news though, you can usually buy your lost item back when it ends up in a yard sale come springtime.
